I know this is an odd criticism to make about a Will Ferrell movie, but I think this one just might be too silly, lightweight and over the top.
Sure, most Wil Ferrell movies have some of that, but the really good one (Anchorman, Talladega) also had a more serious emotional core, and a believable and understandable conflict that the main character had to overcome. I’m sure that Blades will have funny moments, but can it maintain the steam all through the movie, or will the premise wear off after a while?
Then again, Dodgeball was completely awesome, so maybe this one will work too.

In a way, Blades of Glory was ok I suppose. You see with comedies, cheesy at somepoints you know. The thing is, this movie actually beats out Stranger Then Fiction and that I have to say was a boring film. I give two stars for this movie and I mean Will Ferrell did make me laugh a bit and Jon Heder & Jenna Fischer were a very cute couple together and the ice skating was fun to watch. I still give Anchorman the highest vote. 3.4 for Anchorman, 1.2 for Blades of Glory and that’s my vote on these two films.
