When people say “oh no, another inspirational sports story”, I’m the guy who says “hell yeah”. Sure, we have seen films like these before. However, many of them work. And when they do, they are a lot of inspirational fun.
But you know what? There have been too many inspirational sports story lately. It used to be a couple of times a year. One early in the year, another late in the year. But know it seems we are getting a new one every week. I think we had three inspirational football stories just last year. It’s a good formula, but at some point you just have to say enough.
The trailer itself isn’t bad at all. It makes the movie seem like all the other movies following the same formula. Perhaps even with a better sense of humor than most. And that would generally be enough for me. But right now? Right now I need a break.
Perhaps Hollywood should do one of these in which the troubled student actually fails in the end, returns to his bad ways of before and ends up killing himself and a pregnant woman while driving drunk. You know, to clear the palate. Like a sorbet.
